A Personal Note
I’ll be honest: I hesitated to share my diabetes story publicly. For a long time, I thought, “Who wants to hear about my blood sugar?” But the truth is, diabetes isn’t just a number—it’s life. It’s family meals, taco runs, late-night cravings, and figuring out how to enjoy it all without wrecking my health.
The more I talked with friends who also deal with diabetes (and saw their struggles), the more I realized—this is a conversation worth having. Not as a medical lecture, but as a real-life journey.

What You’ll Find Here
I live with Type 2 Diabetes, and I decided it’s time to share my journey—not just the hard stuff, but also the hacks, the science, the laughs, and the everyday moments that make life what it is. For me, diabetes isn’t just about numbers on a glucose monitor. It’s about finding balance—figuring out how to enjoy food, family, and fun without letting diabetes call all the shots.
Some days it’s a battle. Other days, it feels like I’ve cracked the code. And I want to bring you along for both.
This blog series will be part diary, part podcast, part TikTok-style fun. You’ll see:
🎥 Short videos of my daily hacks (from Cinnabon tests to taco adventures).
🎙️ Chats with friends about how we’re handling things differently.
📊 Experiments with data (steps, CGM readings, wins + fails).
✨ Encouragement for anyone feeling tired of the “don’t eat this, don’t eat that” noise

Why Now?
Because diabetes can feel isolating. And I want to turn that around. If even one person feels less alone (or laughs watching me drag Jose the Reindeer into a taco test), then this is worth it. I know I’m not alone in this. Diabetes affects millions of Hispanic men and women, and it’s something that touches almost every family in some way.
